General Labourer/Roller Operator – Full-time, Permanent (seasonal)

Coneen Asphalt is looking for skilled labourers and operators for the 2024 paving season.

Essential duties & responsibilities, not limited to:

• Conduct pre-job preparations and walk-around safety inspections of equipment.

• Perform duties on job sites - sweeping, brooming, raking, shoveling, tamping, shoe tamping, directing traffic, maintaining cleanliness of equipment.

• Operate designated heavy equipment in a safe, professional, and appropriate manner (Eg: Roller, Tamper, Bobcat).

• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the paving operations.

• Capable of visually inspecting asphalt surface for imperfections and correcting them as needed.

• Perform any other duties as necessary.

• Maintain company image.
   

Qualifications

• Experience in operating any of the equipment mentioned above will be an asset.

• Effective verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work as a team as well as with little supervision.

• Ability to take and follow instruction.

• Attention to detail.

• Working in inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

• Reliable transportation. Valid driver’s license is an asset.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safety, and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
